Maddie Woodrick

Admissions and Outreach Assistant

Maddie’s passion for working in mental health began when her mom developed and began running her own nonprofit that works to reduce the stigma around mental health and suicide. She has been able to contribute to the organization by volunteering, writing multiple blog posts, and directing and producing a marketing campaign. Although working in the nonprofit sphere provided immense learning opportunities and insight, she discovered she had a passion for working in a more hands-on capacity. This has led her to explore various work opportunities at different residential treatment centers. Maddie’s work experience thus far has laid an adequate foundation to work at Evoke as the Admissions and Outreach Assistant.

Education & Prior Work Experience

Maddie graduated from Lake Forest College with a degree in English writing and a minor in social justice. She has worked in direct care at various residential treatment centers, as well as working in the admissions and human resources department at a transitional facility for adolescent females. Maddie is also currently in school to receive a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling at Davenport University.

Strengths

Maddie has strong interpersonal communication skills and has valued her experiences connecting with clients and working with families to promote a strong healing environment for all.

Interests

Maddie lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, and enjoys spending time outside with her two huskies, Rex and Bleu. She is originally from the Midwest, but was drawn to Utah due to its extensive opportunities to mountain bike, snowboard, hike, and camp. She loves to challenge herself and is always up for trying something new.
